Finally, insulation!

I apologize for the long delay in updating our progress. We took a bit of a hiatus in working on the trailer, working on solidifying our business plan, menu, goals, equipment decisions and materials. We also needed to put together our pre-application to the Portage County Health Department, which included, among other things, a list of proposed equipment we wanted to use. Some purchases were already made, others pending. The actual layout of the equipment in our tiny space will still need to wait.

However, there is some work we can do without having the pre-approval.

The trailer was sitting empty for a while, so everything dried out well. Time to insulate!

The side ribs protrude only one inch, so I wasn’t sure fiberglass would work, so I used foam sheets. Well, first I decided to add some 1x scraps to frame around the power and water access holes.

Worked out nicely. I think I’ll use fiberglass for the ceiling, since the foam boards don’t bend, and also the ribs there are closer to 2″ thick.
